Boondocking in South Carolina!
Boondocking in South Carolina is largely found in the state’s two national forests, Francis Marion NF and Sumter NF. The Army Corps of Engineers also operates two reservoirs with camping, Hartwell Lake and J. Strom Thurmond. While there are no BLM lands in South Carolina, you can also find free camping opportunities at state wildlife management areas.
