Angel Valley Designated Camping Area, Sedona, AZ

Angel Valley Designated Camping Area, situated west of Sedona, AZ, within Coconino National Forest, offers a varied camping experience based on the day of the week and the time of year.

Crowdedness: The campground’s popularity is evident, with varying levels of congestion reported. Some campers enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, while others note crowded conditions, especially during peak times. The dispersed spots, particularly the first one along the road, seem to fill up quickly, influencing the overall sense of crowdedness.

Noise and Peacefulness: The reviews suggest a mixed experience regarding noise levels. While one visitor found it very peaceful, others mentioned potential disturbances. The second circle received positive comments for being nice and quiet, providing a tranquil setting with great views of Sedona. However, a mention of broken glass and occasional noise in certain areas indicates that the level of tranquility may vary based on specific locations within the campground.

Cellular Phone Signal: Cellular phone signal strength varies, with some users reporting decent connectivity on Verizon, but limited or no signal on T-Mobile. Travelers dependent on consistent phone service should be aware of potential connectivity challenges.

Road Conditions: The road conditions leading to the camping area received mixed reviews. While one camper with a Ford Transit Connect navigated the rocky and bumpy road with ease, caution is advised for larger vehicles or those without high clearance. A warning was issued for RVs over 30 feet, emphasizing the challenges of navigating the one-lane dirt road, gated private areas, and potential lack of turnarounds.

Cleanliness: The cleanliness of the campground is a point of contention among reviewers. Some described it as peaceful and well-maintained, while others noted the presence of ants and broken glass. Additionally, one reviewer highlighted concerns about trash and limited facilities, contrasting with a previous preference for dispersed camping along the road.
