Lake Daniel Campground

There’s about a mile of bumpy and weathered road you’ll have to travel along County Road 147 starting from FM 576 all the way down to the campground. You’re better off getting here during the week, from Monday to Thursday, because there are only a handful of campsites, and these sites are busy on the weekend.

Otherwise, expect primitive amenities.

There is a oil pump on the other side of the lake that runs all night and makes considerable noise when the still of the night comes along. You may want to bring ear plugs.

The City of Breckenridge actually has a couple of laws on the books with respect to camping at Lake Daniel…

Sec. 15-21. - Camping and fire area restricted.

It shall be unlawful for any person to camp on the grounds of Lake Daniel or to have a fire of any kind on any grounds surrounding said lake except in designated areas.

( Ord. No. 21-02 , § II, 2-2-21)

Sec. 15-22. - Erecting cabins; maximum time for tent, etc.

It shall be unlawful for any person to erect or maintain any dwelling house or cabin on Lake Daniel grounds, or to keep camp of any nature, such as a tent, trailer, or uncovered camp thereon continuously for over fourteen (14) days.
