Pleasure Point Park
Operated by Wood County, this county park offers primitive camping along an otherwise affluent area of Texas. With only basic amenities, namely picnic tables and trash cans, it’s best known as a place for locals to go fishing. There are numerous places to set up camp, though nothing is marked aside from the presence of picnic tables. You can camp anywhere.
There’s plenty of shade from tall oak trees that line the shore of Lake Winnsboro. Large motorhomes and fifth wheel trailers can get in here. The red dirt roads will get muddy in wet weather, however. It’s also relatively clean, with not much trash thrown about the area, suggesting that county officials come in here and keep it clean.
