Also known as "Coconino Rim Road", the first mile of this road starting from Highway 64 is off limits to camping due to being within a one mile radius from Hull Cabin (see rule in Downloads below). You generally have to get south of the intersection with Forest Road 307 before getting to the dispersed camping area.
The map marker above is the point at which camping is technically open all the way south along Forest Road 310. From this point there are dozens of previously-used campsites the next 11.8 miles until it reaches Woodbridge Tank.
If you were to camp anywhere along this stretch, you would be at a minimum of 15.9 miles (30 minutes) from South Rim View Point at Grand Canyon Village.
Camping out here offers more availability due to this area being further distance from the main attractions at Grand Canyon. Even during the weekends in summer you can usually find an open campsite.
The road conditions here are firm packed dirt, suitable for any vehicle as long as you stay on the road and in previously-used campsites. Kaibab National Forest motor vehicle use policy restricts you to more than 30 feet from the side of a road.
Kaibab National Forest Order 03-07-01-23-02, Prohibits camping within 1 mile of developed sites in the Williams and Tusayan Ranger Districts, and 1/2 mile in the North Kaibab Ranger District, (eff: September 1, 2023, term: August 31, 2033)
