Camping on Forest Road 307
The best sites are found along truck trails that run partially up the hillside. There are about eight of these within that first two miles. Road conditions on these trails are rutted and bumpy, and can be soft and muddy during wet weather. They’re better suited for 4WD vehicles with small trailers, though it’s not uncommon to see campers that have pulled larger rigs.
There are also a lot of trees growing close to the road and will certainly brush across your shiny paint job if that’s a concern.
However, these campsites place you about 20 miles from the town of Cameron for fuel and basic supplies. It’s a great mid-point between Grand Canyon National Park and the some of the attractions to the east like Lee’s Canyon and Little Colorado.
