Camping at Pit Camp Yellow Post Site
Even though this campsite is open to anyone, it was originally created for hikers along the Pacific Coast Trail. The trail runs through this campsite and follows the road up here. The road up here is bumpy and rocky, and not really advisable for trailers and motorhomes. It’s better suited for truck campers, rooftop tents, or vans. There are also places where the road gets narrow.
Yet, it’s still a popular destination just because it sits up high and offers a great view of Mt. Baldy. It’s not really a great campsite to remain for several days because many hikers traveling Pacific Coast Trail make plans to set up camp here.
There are no restroom facilities here, you will have to either bring a shovel and dig a hole, or have your own porta-potty, if your vehicle does not have its own toilet.
