Camping at Gwynn Tank Campground
Gwynn Tank Campground is a flat site in an open ponderosa meadow. Additionally, Gwynn Tank Campground is located adjacent to its namesake Gwynn Tank pond. The pond is historically stocked for recreational fishing.
No reservations needed, first-come/first-served. All campgrounds on the Gila National Forest have a 14-day stay limit. OHVs and ATVs prohibited in the campground, as are saddle, pack, and draft animals. Pets are okay.
The best route to this campground is via Forest Road 141, also known as “Reserve Beaverhead Road”. This road starts off as “Main Street” inside the town of Reserve, also marked as “Highway 435”, as it heads south of town. Once this road crosses over San Francisco River, it changes names to “Reserve Beaverhead Road”. From the bridge, stay on this road for 28 miles (about a 1 hour 15 minute drive) straight to the campground.
