Camping at Trout Lakes Campground

Tranquility is the word that comes to mind at Trout Lakes Campground. It’s what you probably envision when you think of forest camping.

Campsites here are suitable for small to full-sized trailers and motorhomes. The lakes provide fishing opportunities amid a setting of quiet conifers and aspen. Summer’s quiet beauty turns to gold as autumn touches the aspen and rewards campers lingering in the area.

Access road to Trout Lakes is hazardous when wet. Forest Road 125 is graveled from U.S. Highway 84 for three miles. The remainder is not graveled and is extremely slick and hazardous when wet. Monsoon rains make this road impassable. High clearance vehicle and four-wheel drive is recommended during wet weather. Large RVs or camper trailers are allowed during warm, dry weather, but not advised when wet.

There are as many as 12 previously-used campsites here,

Fishing is pretty good here, with several locals preferring this spot for trout all throughout the warmer months.
