Camping at Upper Virginia Creek Primitive Campground

This is a rustic campground with fire rings in a Jeffrey Pine Forest. There are no trash cans; you must pack out all your trash.

Located just 17 miles from the town of Lee Vining, and 30 miles from the Tioga Pass entrance to Yosemite National Park, Upper Virginia Creek Primitive Campground is a popular destination for campers wanting a high-elevation respite from summer heat while staying close to Yosemite, Mono Lake, Mammoth Lakes.

Campsites here are smaller than those at Lower Virginia Creek, but still suitable for small to medium-sized RVs. Access road into this campground is paved, and then transitions to hard-packed gravel, firm enough for any 2WD vehicle.
