Camping at Norcross Campground

Access to Norcross Campground is along Elk Creek Rd (Forest Road 16N05). Starting at the town of Happy Camp, take Elk Creek Road south, cross over Klamath River, and follow this road for 14.5 miles. Parts of the road are improved with gravel, but other parts are just dirt with potholes and ruts. High clearance is recommended, but not necessarily 4WD.

Norcross campground is the base camp for two main trails heading into the Marble Mountain Wilderness; the Elk Creek Trail and the Kelsey National Recreation Trail along Bear Creek to Bear Valley and Bear Lake. The Elk Creek Trail can be ridden or hiked as 4 different loops with a variety of destinations and mountain lakes. Because of the trails, Norcross Campground is popular with horseback riders and hikers.

There is water at the campground but is only for horses. There are no trash cans.
