Camping at East Fork Campground
Access to East Fork Campground is paved all the way from the town of Callahan on CA-3 to the campground along Cecilville Rd. The campground itself is small, suitable only for single vehicles, vans, and pickup truck campers. Small trailers no more than 16-18 feet in length.
The town of Cecilville, just 2.3 miles to the west, actually has a fuel station and saloon. The town of Forks of Salmon, another 20 miles to the west, is larger, but still offers no amenities. You’ll have to head another 20 miles west to the town of Somes Bar to find a small grocery store.
East Fork Campground is a great place if you want some alone time, and perhaps an opportunity to do some salmon fishing. But at just 2,600 feet elevation it’s not really a place to find cool weather during the summer, although there is plenty of shade tree at this campground.
