Camping at Wingate Bar River Access

Wingate Bar has a graded gravel road to the water’s edge. The only amenity is an information kiosk. The Forest Service provides a portable toilet here in summer months. Otherwise, this is primarily used as a dispersed camping area and launch point for kayaks and rafts.

The town of Happy Camp is located 7.1 miles to the north (east), and the town of Somes Bar is 31.3 miles to the south (west).

Wingate Bar does have shade trees for smaller vehicles, but otherwise there’s a good deal of sunshine for powering solar panels. Temperatures here in the summer still get hot, often into the 90s.
