Camping at Tishomingo NWR Campground
The campground offers a great view of Cumberland Pool, which is technically the northern-most point of Lake Texoma. The grounds are “decent”, in our opinion, with paved pads, and the basic amenities. There’s not much in terms of shade trees here, and we did note some trash laying around. But overall, it’s not a bad place.
Note: the Tishomingo NWR Brochure linked below states a 7-night maximum limit as a general policy, however this campground is excepted with a 14-day limit.
There are restroom facilities at the campground itself, but there are some at a picnic area about 0.7 miles back up the main road (Refuge Road).
During the summer this campground remains mostly open because of the heat and humidity of Oklahoma, but it swells with campers during the late-Spring and early-Fall. Otherwise, it remains open year-round.
