Sidewinder Road runs through the ghost town of Ogilby and into lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This is a popular boondocking area during the winter months. There is enough open space to accommodate hundreds of full-sized RVs. BLM officials "do" patrol this area during the winter months to enforce occupancy rules.
Sidewinder Road has an exit from Interstate 8 at the tiny town of Felicity. The route north heads into open BLM land, whereas the route south heads into Pilot Knob LTVA. Most people who boondock off of Sidewinder Road usually take the Ogilby Road off-ramp, one-off-ramp west of Sidewinder Road.
Almost all of the land along Ogilby Road, and most of the land off of Sidewinder Road is open for boondocking.
