Camping at Big Springs Campground

Access to Big Springs Campground is via Owens River Road, which is a firm-packed gravel road, smooth and easy to drive for any 2WD vehicle. Campsites here are large enough for full-sized RVs. Even though it’s free to camp here, there is a donation box with a suggested donation of $10.00.

There is normally a camp host here.

Big Springs Campground is often full during the weekend. If you cannot find an open site, there is plenty of boondocking available along Owens River Road just before you get to the campground. See “Owens River Road” for details.

Among other notes, there are no trash cans here, be prepared to pack out your trash. However, there is a DOT rest area (Crestview Rest Area) located just 2.6 miles away along US-395 with trash cans and potable water.
