Free Camping at Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge

Clifton River Access is a free, developed single site offered by Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge. It's located along the very southern-tip of Muel Lake. The site itself is small, suitable only for cars, vans, and pickup truck campers. Trailers cannot camp here because there is no turn-around, and the right-angle back-in into this site is cumbersome.

Camping at Clifton River Access

Of the seven single-campsites within the Wildlife Management Unit, this one is perhaps the least desirable due to being heavily unlevel, and its difficulty backing-in a trailer. The fact that weeds have nearly overgrown this site is evidence.

The access road leading into this site is also heavily rutted. 4WD is required during wet weather, along with high clearance.

Verizon 4G comes in at just 1 bar.
