Cold Camp, Lytle Creek, CA
This single Yellow Post Campsite offers a fair amount of privacy, though there is still considerable traffic, OHV riders, and hikers going up and down Lytle Creek Road. The road in is well-packed and suitable for any vehicle, but it’s bumpy. During heavy rains, you want to avoid driving up here because the creek will swell.
Campfires require a Calfiornia Campfire Permit which is the law all across the state. You can get one for free online just by watching a video and filling out a form at the Ready for Wildfire Website.
Cold Camp is often in use because it’s most easily accessible along Lytle Creek and the first Yellow Post Campsite you come to.
