Camping at Cuchillo Del Medio Campground

One of three small campgrounds on paved road to Taos Ski Valley providing access to Rio Hondo fishing and hiking in Columbine-Hondo Wilderness Study Area and Wheeler Peak Wilderness.

Two of the campsites are large enough for small to medium-sized RVs. Roads within the campground can be tight and steep. It’s best to park your trailer or motorhome on a wide shoulder along State Highway 150 before entering because you may have difficulty getting out if all campsites are full.

This is a popular campground when open due to fishing in the Rio Hondo, and due to people hiking through the Columbine-Hondo Wilderness and Wheeler Park Wilderness.
