Double Bayou Park

You will definitely need to get the camping permit because Sheriff’s deputies routinely patrol here and will check for your permit. Call the County Office at the phone number above, and then e-mail a photo of your driver’s license, and they will e-mail you back a permit. The County will tell you not to park on grass, making the only place to park your vehicle at the boat ramp at the far end of the park.

The boat ramp parking area is large enough for a few vehicles. There is a turn-around there and it’s large enough to turn a 40+ foot fifth-wheel trailer, however it may not be if there are other vehicles parked there.

There are alligators in the bayou, and they may wander up into the parking area. The mosquitoes are thick here.
