Camping at Hackberry Lake OHV Area

An older facility than Hackberry Lake Campground South, this campground offers more campsites and places riders closer to the dunes, and the campsites are more spread out. This lies about 6 miles north from the South Campground.

This campground gets crowded during the weekends with OHV riders. During the week from Monday to Thursday, it gets quiet and there’s plenty of open campsites to choose from.

In our experience, this campground gets pretty windy, as evidenced by the nearby dunes. There’s also noise from trucks servicing the oil fields. If you don’t mind the slightly longer drive into town, this is the better campground compared to South Campground.
