Camping at Iron Creek Campground

Located in the Black Range Mountains off New Mexico State Highway 152, starting at San Lorenzo and ending in Hillsboro. This is a mountain road with beautiful scenic sites at every curve. Iron Creek Campground is one of four campgrounds located along this stretch.

Many of these campsites are smaller, intended for cars, vans, and pickup trucks with tents. However, there are a few large sites suitable for full-sized RVs.

Iron Creek Campground’s best feature is its shade. Most campsites have full shade, with the others having partial shade. Combined with the high elevation, it’s a great place to get away from the summer heat. There is also a creek that runs through the campground.
