Camping at Orr Lake Campground

Access to Orr Lake Campground starts at the town of Macdoel at the intersection of US-97 and Old State Highway, and runs south along Old State Highway for a distance of 14.7 miles to the town of Bray. From there, turn right and drive over the train tracks, which takes you on Orr Mountain Lookout Road. Bear left and head north-west for 1.6 miles to the east shore campground, and then another 0.4 miles to the north shore campground.

Most of Old State Highway is firm-packed gravel road, suitable for any 2WD vehicle. Campsites are large enough for full-sized RVs.

Orr Lake Campground is primarily used by fishermen, but even during dry seasons, it remains a quiet respite for full-timers looking to spend a couple of weeks off-grid. Just make sure to have plenty of supplies on hand because it’s a long gravel road drive to Macdoel for supplies.
