Surprise Designated Camping Area, Sedona, AZ

Crowdedness: It’s generally crowded during weekends, and lighter during the week, however, Surprise is often crowded regardless of the day of teh week. The camping area could comfortably fit around 8 to 10 large RVs, or 20 or so cars and vans.

Noise Level: Because Surprise can handle a larger volume of campers than the other designated camping areas, it will get more noisy, often from campers, the running of generators, and kids playing nearby.

Cellular Phone Signal: Cell signal tends to be weak to fair through here, and gets better when push further north towards the other designated camping areas.

Road Conditions: The road conditions to the campground are hard packed dirt, suitable for any 2WD vehicle. During the rains, however, it can get muddy here.

Campground Cleanliness: Again, because Surprise is a larger campround than the other designated camping areas near Sedona, there tends to be more trash laying around.
