Swede Johnson Recreation Area

Clean, modern, and well-taken care of is what you’ll find at Swede Johnson Recreation Area along the Sabine River. The Sabine River Authority of Texas is known for taking good care of its recreation areas, and Swede Johnson is no exception.

Although it’s one of the smaller campgrounds in the River Authority’s collection, it’s still very much popular. Weekends see packed parking lots and campsites, proving that fishing and boating is the most popular form of outdoor recreation in this area of the country.

Our experience has been that Swede Johnson Recreation Area is best visited during mid-week for full time RVers and road nomads.
