Gwynn Tank Campground, Reserve, NM

Gwynn Tank Campground is a free, developed campground offered by Gila National Forest. There are seven marked campsites, three of which are large, pull-through sites for full-sized RVs, the others are back-in sites for cars, vans, pickup trucks, or small RVs. The campground largely serves Gwynn Tank Pond, a popular fishing hole.

Cosmic Campground, Glenwood, NM

This is a free, developed campground offered by Gila National Forest. It has eight back-in sites large enough for full-sized RVs, including an additional four to five tent sites too. There are four circular concrete pads for setting up telescope tripods to watch and photograph the night sky.

Cottonwood Campground, Reserve, NM

This is a small, free, developed campground offered by Gila National Forest, primarily for tent camping. It's located on the west side of US Highway 180, between mileposts 23 and 24, north of Glenwood and Alma, New Mexico. Officially, there are four tent sites, but only three picnic tables.

Pueblo Park Campground, Reserve, NM

This is a free, developed campground offered by Gila National Forest. There are as many as 10 campsites with fire rings, but with the possibility of more dispersed camping areas nearby. This is a more remote campground that sees less campers than Apache Creek Campground to the north.

Apache Creek Campground, Reserve, NM

This is a free, developed campground offered by Gila National Forest. While the Forest Service describes this as a dispersed camping area, there are at least ten sites with picnic tables and fire rings, and three of these sites have shade structures. There are perhaps five more previously-used campsites with no amenities.

Armijo Springs Campground, Quemado, NM

This is a free, developed campground offered by Gila National Forest. It has five sites with picnic tables and fire rings, but dispersed camping is allowed here. This campground is large enough for full-sized RVs, while the road seems firm enough for any vehicle. 4WD is not required, except during wet conditions.

El Caso Campgrounds, Quemado, NM

El Caso Campgrounds is a series of five, free, designated dispersed campgrounds operated by Gila National Forest. All five are located along Forest Road 13, about 1.5 miles east of Quemado Lake. All five El Caso campgrounds are grouped within a 0,5 mile distance together.

Head of the Ditch Campground, Luna, NM

This is a free, developed campground offered by Gila National Forest. There is plenty of room for several full-sized RVs, including picnic tables, and a vault toilet. There is also room for dozens of tent sites in the main area of the campground, and along Forest Road 882 heading south from the campground.

Kingston Campground, Kingston, NM

This is a free, developed campground, offered by Gila National Forest. There are only two campsites here, both of which are small, intended for tent camping, with enough parking space for cars, vans, and pickup trucks. Small trailers could be backed-into either of these campsites, as long as they are small, like 16 feet or less, with a small tow vehicle.

Wolf Hollow Campground, Winston, NM

This is a free, developed campground located in the "middle of nowhere" of Gila National Forest. It lies about 90 miles northwest of Truth or Consequences, NM, and offers six campsites with picnic tables. This is primarily a campground used by hunters, but is suitable for all campers.
