Upper Virginia Creek Primitive Campground, Lee Vining, CA

Upper Virginia Creek Primitive Campground is a free, developed campground operated by Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. It's smaller than its sister campground at Lower Virginia Creek (see nearby campsites below), but closer to the village of Virginia Lakes. The campground offers fire rings, vault toilet, and bear proof storage boxes.

Lower Virginia Creek Primitive Campground is a free, developed campground offered by Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. 22 campsites with fire rings and bear boxes, there are several sites taht can accommodate large trailers or motorhomes. The campground is located along Lower 139 Campground Rd (also known as Forest Road 32139).

Desert Creek Campground, Wellington, NV

Desert Creek Campground is a free, developed campground offered by Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Located along Desert Creek Rd (NF-027 on Google Map), the campground sits about 14 miles south of the town of Wellington. There are six sites for trailers and RVs, and about a dozen more for cars and tents.

It's located along NF-001, about 6.4 miles west of the intersection with State Route 82 (Belmont Road), and about 30 miles from the town of Austin.

Pine Creek Campground is a free, developed campground offered by Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. There are 21 campsites, including a group campsite. Many of the sites are small, but there are a fair number that can accommodate RVs from 20 to 35 feet in length.

Peavine Creek Campground is a free, developed campground offered by Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Located in Peavine Canyon, on the southeastern side of the Toiyabe Mountain Range, the campground is approached along Peavine Creek Road (NF-020 on Google Map, 44020 on Motor Vehicle Use Map).

Big Creek Campground, Austin, NV

This is a free, developed campground offered by Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. There are six campsites, some of which can accommodate full-sized RVs, while others are smaller. There is also a group site that can accommodate 6-8 vehicles and RVs. The campground is generally open May to October, as weather and conditions allow.

This is a free, developed campground offered by Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. It's generally open May to October, as weather and conditions allow. Located about a 2.0 mile drive southwest from Belmont, NV, this campground has enough space to accommodate about eight (8) vehicles.
