Dispersed camping is popular along State Highway 9 east of Zion National Park. Zion Scenic Byway Dispersed Camping is not an officially recognized BLM campground, but just a place where people where people often boondock as a free camping area when visiting Zion National Park.
Poverty Kiosk OHV Staging Area, Mt. Carmel, UT
Free camping is available at Poverty Kiosk OHV Area, located just east of Zion National Park along State Highway 9. Managed by Kanab Field Office of Utah Bureau of Land Management (BLM), this is a staging area for network of OHV trails. It's also an entry point for Parunuweap Canyon WSA.

Dalton Wash Road runs north from Virgin, UT into BLM Land, placing campers right up close to the border of Zion National Park. This is a popular destination due to "Guacamole Trail" which starts here. Sheep Bridge Road, Virgin, UT Probably one of the busiest and difficult places to find available boondocking at, Sheep Bridge Road acts as free camping for RVers looking to spend a weekend at Zion National Park. Each of the 48 marked campsites offers beautiful vistas of red rock cliffs along with easy access to several canyon trails. Even though signs posted at each end of Sheep Bridge Road instruct you to camp only in marked campsites, dozens of RVers and vanners still set up in unmarked sites.
