Glass Creek Campground, Mammoth Lakes, CA
Glass Creek Campground is a free, developed campground offered by Inyo National Forest. It's a large campground, with 66 sites, with most sites large enough for full-sized fifth-wheel trailers and motorhomes. Campsites are close together, creating the feel of an RV park. Even though it's free to camp here, you are still required to self-register when arriving.
Deadman Campground, Upper & Lower, Mammoth Lakes, CA
Deadman Campground, Upper & Lower, are free, developed campgrounds offered by Inyo National Forest. With 20 campsites between the two, these campgrounds are located adjacent to each other, separated by Deadman Creek. The campground is not suitable for RV camping. Tent or car camping only. Vault toilets and picnic tables are available, but only a limited number of bear-proof storage cabinets.
Big Springs Campground, Mammoth Lakes, CA
Big Springs Campground is a free, developed campground offered by Inyo National Forest. Located between Mammoth Lakes and June Lake, near the Crestview area, this campground has 26 campsites surrounded by pine forest. This is a popular base camp for fishing Deadman Creek, exploring Obsidian Dome and OHV/ATV trails in the Lookout Mountain area.

It's only amenities are a set of vault toilets, otherwise you're on your own with trash, tables, or campfire. There's enough room here for five to six campers, including small to medium-sized trailers.

Centerville Flat Dispersed Campground is a free, dispersed camping area offered by Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. The only amenities found here are vault toilets. There are no trash cans either. Otherwise this is strictly a designated boondocking area where camping is allowed anywhere.

It's smaller than its sister campground at Lower Virginia Creek (see nearby campsites below), but closer to the village of Virginia Lakes. The campground offers fire rings, vault toilet, and bear proof storage boxes.

Lower Virginia Creek Primitive Campground is a free, developed campground offered by Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. 22 campsites with fire rings and bear boxes, there are several sites taht can accommodate large trailers or motorhomes. The campground is located along Lower 139 Campground Rd (also known as Forest Road 32139).

With 32 campsite units, some with picnic tables and fire rings, and vault toilets, it's situated on a peninsula of Union Valley Reservoir. It's a popular destination for locals seeking weekend camping for fishing and water activities.
Wentworth Springs Campground, Pollock Pines, CA
This is a free, developed campground offered by El Dorado National Forest strictly for high clearance, 4WD vehicles. There are eight (8) sites, all of which are designed for tent camping. The campground is only open from June to October. There are picnic tables, fire rings, and a vault toilet.
Airport Flat Campground, Pollock Pines, CA
